Happy Holidays everyone!

With a new year and new budgets, projects and work programs rapidly approaching, I think it’s worthwhile to take a moment to reflect on and celebrate the impressive 2016 accomplishments of the Department of Natural Resources and Parks. The link below will take you to a slide show highlighting some of our more notable achievements, although it is just a small sampling of our department’s wide range of work:

There are so many ways that we positively influence our residents’ quality of life: By providing regional parks and trails, protecting the region’s water, air, land, natural habitats and historic properties, and reducing, safely disposing of and creating resources from wastewater and solid waste. That’s why I believe it is important that we celebrate all our accomplishments big and small, because doing so only fosters more good things to come.

I’m enormously proud of this department and its employees, and I hope you are equally proud of yourselves. Wishing you a full year of happiness and success in 2017,

Christie True
DNRP Director
