Members of Board for Developmental Disabilities

The 15-member Board for Developmental Disabilities advises King County on community services for children with developmental delays, adults with developmental disabilities, and their families. The Board develops plans, advises on funding priorities, and advocates for increases in funding and improvements in services. Board members include family advocates, self-advocates, professionals and interested citizens.

Deborah Anderson, Council District Eight, Term expires 9/30/19
Ms. Anderson contributes her training, expertise, and life experiences for her passion of advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities so they can have a better quality life.

Joseph Phillips, Council District Eight, Term expires 9/30/18

Mr.Phillips is a Special Educator who puts families first by advocating for funds necessary to ensure quality services are provided for persons with disabilities.

Leo Finnegan, Council District Nine, Term expires 9/30/17
Mr. Finnegan has provided exceptional leadership to our board in the past as Chair and Vice Chair and he has returned to continue his efforts to help improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities. 

Hameed Quraishi, Council District Seven, Term expired 9/30/2017
Mr. Quraishi is a strong parent advocate for his daughter with a disability and he is determined to make a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. 

Marla Veliz, Council District Two, Partial Term expires 9/30/19
Ms. Veliz is a Special Educator who provides a personalized learning environment essential for special needs students to prepare them to be contributing members of society and life-long learners.

Nancy Yee, Council District Two, Partial Term expires 9/30/19
Ms. Yee is a self-advocate and a parent of a son with developmental delays. Nancy has a long-standing commitment to the developmental disabilities community and feels she can contribute to the board and the developmental disabilities community.

Theresa-Ann Clark, Council District Two, Partial Term expires 9/30/2018
Dr. Clark is a family physician advocating to solve the complexity of issues facing individuals affected by developmental disabilities. Her vision is to increase access to expertise in research, local asset mapping, and evidence-based solutions to complex problems and creating pathways for success to underserved populations.

Alice Fong, Council District Six, Partial Term expires 9/30/18
Ms. Fong is a dedicated community leader committed to creating an inclusive society where the richness of diversity will create a thriving society. 

Alice is interested in learning about the developmental disabilities system in King County and how its services and supports can be utilized to create positive life changes that support and elevate people with developmental disabilities in their communities.
