2017 Legislative Issues

The Board for Developmental Disabilities presented their 27th annual Legislative Forum on November 21, 2016, where they focused on issues important to the developmental disabilities system. Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their family members connected with legislators and supported the following legislative issues from the Board:

    The Unserved and Underserved Need Equitable Access to Services

      • Young Children Need Birth-to-Three Early Intervention Services;

      • Families in Crisis Need Locally based Crisis Stabilization and Planned Respite;

      • Young Adults Need Employment Services; and

      • People with Disabilities Need Stable and Equitable Community-Based Residential Services. 

      The event was sponsored by the King County Board for Developmental Disabilities and hosted by The King County Parent and Family Coalition, a program of The Arc of King County.
