Judge David Steiner
Judge Steiner was appointed to the District Court bench in 1996 and currently presides over criminal cases at the Bellevue Courthouse. Judge Steiner is the President of the Washington State District and Municipal Court Judge’s Association (DMCJA) and has served as one of the Association’s Board of Directors from 2001 to 2003. He has also served as the King County District Court Presiding Judge from 1999 to 2001.
While serving as the Presiding Judge, Judge Steiner led the team that created the King County District Court Domestic Violence Courts and also helped create the King County Work Crew jail alternative.
Judge Steiner has taught new judges in Washington State’s Judicial College for ten years and sits as a facilitator at national domestic violence judicial training programs.
Judge Steiner is a graduate of the University of Washington (BA) and Seattle University Law School (JD).
