Mediation An informal, voluntary way of helping people solve their own disagreements. The ILCRG uses an interest-based mediation model where 2 mediators (generally) sit down with all of the parties in the same room and assist them in finding their own resolution to the dispute. The mediators are completely neutral third parties who have no stake in the outcome of the dispute other than to assure that the resolution is acceptable to all parties.
Facilitation Facilitation is a means of helping groups improve their communication process(es), or other on-going concerns. Facilitators are neutral and not involved in the matters discussed. Facilitation is especially effective for labor-management committees, etc.
Group/Multi-Party Facilitation Facilitation, but on a grander scale. In this setting the facilitators assist large groups or multiple parties, usually with divergent interests, to clarify and identify issues and concerns, build trust and develop a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Collective Bargaining Impasse Mediation If negotiations are at an impasse our skilled mediators may be able to help. Impasse mediation can be scheduled quickly through the ILCRG, usually within 2 - 3 weeks, much faster than other more traditional methods. The mediation model also helps parties improve their communications.
Mediation-Arbitration Like a traditional mediation, this is a process whereby mediators try to assist the parties in resolving their dispute. However, if the mediation process is not successful, the mediators assume the role of arbitrators and ultimately render a decision.
Customized Dispute Resolution Strategies If none of the processes shown above seem the exact fit for your needs, our staff can work with you and the other parties to customize a dispute resolution strategy to satisfy all. |
