Judge Palmer Robinson
DIGITAL COURTROOM
Judge Robinson operates in an FTR Gold courtroom, which digitally records proceedings. To access a copy of previously recorded proceedings follow the instructions below:
Copies of Previously Recorded Proceedings ($25 per CD)
- CD's can be played on a personal CD player or your computer through a MP3 player. CD's to be used by a court-approved transcriber are copied to include compatible programming; be sure to request this copying method if needed.
- Complete the FTR Digital Audio - Copy Request form. To obtain the required information, you'll need the court minutes for the hearing you wish to have copied. They are usually available for viewing in 3-5 business days after the hearing.
- Return the completed Form to the DJA Copy Center
- Pay $25 per CD (each CD holds 73 minutes of actual proceeding time)
- CD's will be ready within 1 hour
- Pay $3 for postage if you wish to have the DJA Copy Center return your completed CD via mail.
- Contact the DJA Copy Center at (206) 296-7848 with any questions.
Before the hearing: Notify the courtroom clerk that you'll want a copy of the hearing. Digital technology enables the clerk to provide the specific start and end time.

MOTIONS
- Non-Dispositive Motions: Parties must comply with LR 7 when setting motions without argument. Working papers should be addressed to Judge Palmer Robinson and delivered to the King County Courthouse, C-203.
- Dispositive Motions: Parties must contact the court to schedule a motion with oral argument. Dispositive motions are set on Friday mornings. To request a hearing date, please call or e-mail the Bailiff and include the case name, cause number and type of hearing requested. The Bailiff will check the Judge's calendar and respond with available dates and times. Parties are encouraged to call the court as soon as possible, as the calendar fills up quickly.
- Submitting Motions: All deliveries should be made to the Judges Mailroom, C-203. Do not deliver directly to the courtroom unless arrangements have been made with Judge Robinson's bailiff. Please place bulky pleadings and attachments into notebooks with appropriate tabs. Copies of orders will be mailed if pre-addressed stamped envelopes are provided.
- Settlement/Strike Motion: Please call or e-mail the Bailiff immediately if a case settles or a motion needs to be stricken from the court's calendar.
- Motion Status: Do not call the Bailiff regarding the status of a ruling within 48 hours of the day the motion is noted.
TRIAL PREPARATION
- Pretrial Conferences: This Court holds pretrial conference rather than using the Joint Confirmation of Trial Readiness. Pretrial conferences will be scheduled by the Court approximately four - six weeks before the trial date.
- Exhibits: Trial Exhibits are to be delivered to the Judges' Mail Room (C-203) two days prior to trial date.
Counsel will present two sets of Exhibits. The first (original set) will be marked by the Clerk and used at trial. The second (copy) set is a working courtesy copy for the Judge.
Plaintiff/Petitioner's Trial Exhibits shall begin with the Number 1, and shall be numbered consecutively up to the last proposed Exhibit. Defendant/Respondent's Trial Exhibits shall begin with the number which follows Plaintiff/Petitioner's last proposed Trial Exhibit.
Additional Exhibits presented during trial will be marked and designated by the Clerk.
Once an Exhibit has been marked by the Clerk, it is officially in her custody. If an Attorney intends to withdraw an Exhibit prior to completion of trial, they will need to make a motion to withdraw the Exhibit (on the record) in open Court.
- Depositions: Depositions brought by the Court will be kept by Counsel until they are filed. When they are filed the Clerk will open and file stamp them. Filed depositions will remain in the Clerk's custody until trial is completed.
- Witnesses: When a party's designated witness takes the stand, the Clerk needs the following information: Name (including spelling) and complete address (including Zip Code).
COURT'S EMAIL POLICY
E-mail must include the case name and cause number, names and phone numbers of all counsel, type of hearing and date(s) requested. No e-mail is to be sent to the court unless all counsel and unrepresented parties are copied. The court will not rule on any request for relief unless it is properly noted and filed under the appropriate rules.
WEDDINGS
Judge Robinson does not perform weddings.
