Before visiting the court, please read the Rules of Conduct for Judge Heller's courtroom.

Requesting/Setting Oral Argument for Motions

Please call the Bailiff immediately if you need to strike a motion.

If you are setting a dispositive motion, you must call or e-mail the bailiff and schedule time on Judge Heller's calendar.  Please contact the court at least two (2) months prior to the hearing date you would like to request.

Other types of motions that are granted oral argument are motions for restraining orders, preliminary injunctions, revisions, and class certification hearings.

Most other motions do not require oral argument under the Civil Rules or Local Rules (see links above).  If a party would like to request oral argument, the motion should be noted pursuant to the applicable court rules, specifying in the upper right hand corner "Oral Argument Requested".

After Judge Heller has considered all briefing, (moving papers, responses, and replies), and after the date noted for consideration, if the court determines oral argument is appropriate, the bailiff will contact the parties to set a mutually acceptable time for oral argument to be presented.

Contact with the Court

Parties may contact the Court by calling the courtroom phone number provided above, or by e-mailing the bailiff.

Please submit all documents requested by the Court to heller.court@kingcounty.gov.
