Seattle District Court is located on the third floor of the King County Courthouse located at 516 3rd Avenue (on the corner of 3rd and James) in downtown Seattle. The boundaries of Seattle District Court are identical to the City of Seattle's. The Seattle District Court has five judicial positions. Currently the Seattle Division judges are: Judge Arthur Chapman, Division Presiding Judge; Judge Mark Chow; Judge Anne Harper; Judge Eileen Kato; and Judge Barbara Linde, Chief Presiding Judge. The Judges and staff of Seattle District Court committed to providing quality justice to the King County community.
As a Court of Limited Jurisdiction, Seattle District Court is responsible for processing more than 20,000 misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, infraction, civil, lien foreclosures, small claims, vehicle tow, false security alarm, name change, anti-harassment and domestic violence protection order cases a year. In 1998, Seattle District Court expanded their service to the citizens of King County by offering passport application services. Seattle District Court is open from 8:30 A.M. until 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday.
