The King County District Court, South Division, Kent Facility moved into it's current location in May of 1987. In 2003 the Federal Way Division of King County District Court merged operations with the Kent Facility.

The judges elected to serve in the South Division are: Judge Darrell Phillipson, Division Presiding; Judge Rick Bathum; Judge David Christie, Judge Charles J. Delaurenti, II; Judge D. Mark Eide; Judge Judith R. Eiler; Judge Corinna Harn; Judge Victoria Seitz; Judge Elizabeth D. Stephenson; and Judge Linda Thompson.

The Kent Facility hears County, State and City of Covington cases, plus some older cases for the City of Kent, Auburn and Algona. The court also hears civil, small claims, civil protection orders and anti-harassment orders.

In July of 1998 Kent Municipal Court moved into the current facility. With a few adjustments, both courts are working together to serve the community in one location.

Driving Directions & Public Transportation

Northbound I-5: Take 272^nd Street exit (Exit 147), go east. Stay on that road through the Valley, turn left on Auburn Way/N. 83^rd which becomes Central Avenue South. Go north one mile, court on right-hand side.

Southbound I-5: Take Kent/Des Moines Exit, go east all the way down the hill, across the valley to Central Avenue South. Turn right onto Central Avenue South, go one mile, court on left-hand side.

South on Highway 18: Take Auburn exit, turn right and go north on Auburn Way for approximately 9 miles. Court is on east side of the street.

Southbound SR-167: Take the Willis Street Exit. Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Willis Street. Head east to Central Avenue. Turn right and head South on Central Avenue South for approximately 1 mile. Court is on the east side (left) of the street.

Northbound SR-167: Take the 277th Street exit. Turn right at the end of the ramp onto 277th Street. Head east to Central Avenue South. Turn left and head north on Central Avenue South for approximately 1 mile. Court is on the east side (right) of the street.

From I-5: Take the Kent/Des Moines Exit, go eastbound on Kent/Des Moines Road, turn left on Meeker Streeet, turn left on 4^th Avenue, turn left on James Street. Entrance and parking on left side of road.

Southbound SR-167: Take the Central Avenue exit. Turn left at the light. Head South on Central Avenue to James Street. Turn right on James Street and head west. Cross 4th Avenue and turn left to enter the parking garage a 620 James Street. The parking garage is on the right.

Northbound SR-167: Take the Willis Street exit. Turn right at the light. Head east to 4th Avenue and turn left at the light. Travel on 4th Avenue to James Street. Turn left onto James Street. Turn left to enter the parking garage at 620 James Street. The parking garage is on the right.
