South Division
Judge Corinna Harn was elected to Southwest District Court, Position 1, in 1998 and her term began in January of 1999. She was re-elected to a second term beginning in 2003. On May 17, 2004, she was elected as Chief Presiding Judge after serving a nearly two year term as Assistant Chief Presiding Judge. Judge Harn's term as Chief Presiding Judge ended on December 31, 2006. She returned to her South Division duties and was elected Division Presiding Judge by the South Division Judges.
In 1996, Judge Harn was appointed by the Mayor of the City of Renton as that city's municipal court judge and in 1998, she became the first elected judge of the Renton Municipal Court.
Judge Harn graduated from Whitman College with a degree in political science and chemistry. She attended the University of Puget Sound School of Law (which is now a part of Seattle University) and graduated in 1984.
Judge Harn and her daughter have lived in the Southwest judicial district since 1989.
From 1984 until 1996, Judge Harn practiced law in Yakima and Seattle. Her practice focused on both plaintiff and defense litigation. She has successfully argued cases before the Washington State Court of Appeals and the Washington Supreme Court.
Judge Harn's experience with district and municipal courts began more than 20 years ago when she was a district and municipal court clerk. She has practiced in district and municipal courts as a lawyer and she has been a district and municipal court judge pro tem since 1988.
Judge Harn has also been an educator at various legal seminars and she was the director of the Paralegal Program at Highline Community College in 1994. She is a member of the Burien-White Center Rotary Club and the Highline Hospital Foundation.She is also a member of the District Court and Municipal Court Judges Association and the South King County Bar Association.
