Transcription of Hearings (Prepare Verbatim Reports of Proceedings)

For purposes other than an appeal: You may employ any transcriber of your choice at your own cost.

All indigent cases are assigned by the DJA Copy Center for preparation of verbatim reports. A list of court-approved transcribers is available at all DJA Copy Center locations and on our website at http://www.kingcounty.gov/courts/Clerk/Transcriptionists.aspx.

For appeal purposes : The Rules of Appellate Procedure 9.2 require that a court-approved transcriber must transcribe proceedings recorded on videotape. Copy Center staff will provide the transcriber with the recorded proceedings. Parties ordering transcripts are responsible for payment to the transcriber.
