General information on obtaining copies of electronically recorded and court reported hearings in King County Superior Court Court hearings may be reported by a traditional court reporter or recorded electronically by an audio or video recorder. The court minutes for the hearing (found in the case file) will identify the method of reporting or recording. The minutes are also important because they will show the start and end times and the location (room number) of the hearing. Please note: Not all hearings are reported or recorded. Transcripts (verbatim reports) are not automatically prepared or filed into the court file. Some cases are sealed by state law or court order and you may be required to obtain a court order to access the records.
