In Person
You can file all King County Superior Court documents in the Clerk’s Office. We have 2 locations (Kent and Seattle). If your document has a fee you will need to file it with the Cashiers. If your document does not have a fee you can either drop it in the rapid filing box or take it to the customer service counter for filing.
By Mail
You can mail documents to be filed. If there is a filing fee please include the appropriate payment and make your envelope ATTN: Cashiers. If you would like you can include a self-addressed stamped envelope as well as a copy of your document(s) and we will conform them and mail it back to you along with your receipt (if applicable).
Electronically (E-file)
You can electronically file documents into any existing case as long as it was initiated on or after January 1, 2000. You can initiate cases electronically as well, through the e-filing system, exceptions are criminal cases, and cases that require an original or certified copy of a document to initiate, such as an original will or a modification of a non-King County case. You can deliver working papers to judges and commissioners through the e-filing system for a fee.
