Questions??  Please contact us at 206-205-8421.

Note:

Please be aware: E-filing does not satisfy any requirement of parties to submit working copies. If you need to submit working copies you may submit them electronically through the e-filing application.

What do you call them??

We call them eWorking Copies, but you might call them working papers, judges' copies, bench copies, courtesy copies...

How can I alleviate the hassle of printing assembling and delivering working copies to my judge or commissioner?

Instead of printing, copying and organizing stacks of documents, you or your staff can literally send your working copies to judges and commissioners with a few key strokes and clicks of a mouse.

eWorking Copies

eWorking Copies is a value-added service which complements the e-filing of court documents (which became mandatory in King County Superior Court on July 1, 2009). In a nutshell, eWorking Copies allows you to electronically transmit documents which will then be printed, assembled and ordered into working copies per your instructions and presented to your judge or commissioner.

Reminders and clarifications

  • Starting September 1, 2010 you have the option to submit Motions for Summary Judgment (MSJ) via the eWorking Copies application. Trial-by-Affidavit (TBA) working copies must still be submitted in paper form per LGR 30.
  • Submitting documents via eWorking Copies is not a substitution for using E-Ex Parte via the Clerk as required by local rules. However, when you submit to E-Ex Parte via the Clerk, you do not need to send working copies to the Ex Parte and Probate Department.
  • Submitting eWorking Copies does not fullfill the requirement for filing original documents into the court file. However, if you submit a proposed order through eWorking Copies and it is signed, it will be filed with the Clerk's Office. You will also receive a copy of your signed order.

Benefits of eWorking Copies

  • Direct transmission of electronic documents to the Superior Court Clerk's Office.
  • Time stamp on your transmittal confirmation sheet will be your delivery time to the court as required by local rules.

Value-added services as part of the eWorking Copies fee include:

  • Professional customized tabbing between and within documents.
  • Full-color, high-resolution printing of your documents.
  • Hearing information (court/calendar, date, and time of hearing) labels added to each document (as required by local rules).
  • Postage-paid envelopes for up to five recipients of signed order(s).
  • Guaranteed delivery times to judges/commissioners. On submissions with a hearing date on the day following the date of submission, the working copies will be delivered by 1 p.m. if received by noon. If working copies are received after noon for a hearing the following day, they will be delivered by 8 a.m. the following day. All other submissions will be delivered within 24 hours.

Cost of eWorking Copies

The service costs $20 for each set of working copies. (There is also a small e-commerce transaction fee for each submission.)
