King County Superior Court Non-Judicial Days

The Superior Court Clerk's Office and Superior Court are closed on the following Holidays.  Please do not schedule matters for these days.  Documents scheduling matters on a Holiday will be returned with a $15 faulty document handling fee imposed.

General Information:

Legal Holidays (RCW 1.16.050):

  • Sundays
  • the first day of January, New Year's Day
  • the third Monday of January, celebrated as the birth of Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • the third Monday of February, Presidents' Day
  • the last Monday of May, Memorial Day
  • the fourth day of July, Independence Day
  • the first Monday in September, Labor Day
  • the eleventh day of November, Veterans' Day
  • the fourth Thursday of November, Thanksgiving Day, and the day after
  • the twenty-fifth day of December, Christmas Day

Whenever any legal holiday, other than Sunday, falls upon a Sunday, the following Monday shall be the legal holiday.  Whenever any legal holiday falls upon a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be the legal holiday.
