Clerk's Office Continuing Legal Education Workshop | Designed for Attorneys and Legal Staff
The King County Superior Court Clerk’s Office, Department of Judicial Administration (DJA), offers an educational workshop covering the principal functions of the Clerk's Office services; including but not limited to the Ex Parte process, the Electronic Court Records (ECR) Program, and offering participants a choice of a session with either the Superior Court's Family Court Services or the Mandatory Arbitration Program. The Clerk's Office CLE Workshop is of particular value to those whose practice or work assignments include King County cases. Instruction is provided by Clerk's Office and Superior Court subject matter experts with years of experience. Emphasis is given to sharing ‘how-to’ procedural information with practice tips and suggestions on how to avoid common problems and errors that may cause avoidable delays or incur fees. Demonstrations of the eFiling and ECR Online applications are provided. Participants will learn how to access the many Clerk's services via the internet, by telephone and in-person. Both legal staff and attorneys are encouraged to sign up for the workshop. Participants receive course materials containing detailed process descriptions and practice tips, links to up-to-date forms, important rules and procedure information, and much more. Attorneys may earn ten (10) Continuing Legal Education (CLE) general credits approved by the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA). The 2012 workshop tuition is $200.00. Participants must secure their seats by paying the tuition in advance. Space is limited to 25 participants and assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. The workshop will be held in the King County Chinook Building in downtown Seattle, conference room 126. Click here for directions.
