Council committee engages in regional economy panel discussion The Transportation, Economy, and Environment Committee (TrEE) hosted a panel discussion today on the comparative economic advantages of the county, its current economic status, and what King County government can do to support economic growth. Panel members included Professor William Beyers from the University of Washington, Economic Forecaster Richard Conway of Dick Conway & Associates, and Labor Leader David Freiboth of the Martin Luther King, Jr. County Labor Council.

Council recognizes Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, encourages safe disposal of unused drugs Prescription drug abuse is growing in the U.S., with the primary source of those drugs being unused and expired medicines kept inside the home. The Metropolitan King County Council today gave its unanimous support to a national effort encouraging the safe disposal of unused drugs by recognizing the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, set for this Saturday, April 30.
