Phillips applauds Vermont for overriding gay marriage veto

Washington should follow the lead of Vermont, Iowa


“The Vermont legislature righted an egregious wrong by overriding their governor’s veto of gay marriage.

“I am happy for the citizens of Vermont who now have the freedom to marry the person of their choosing.

“With gay marriage now legal in four states thanks to the recent progress in Vermont and Iowa, I hope Washington will soon join them, so that our citizens can live in freedom and equality.”
