Roger Thordarson appointed to the King County Transit Advisory Committee
On Tuesday (May 27), the Metropolitan King County Council confirmed the appointment of Roger Thordarson to the King County Transit Advisory Committee. Thordarson’s appointment is for a partial term expiring September 30, 2009. Mr. Thordarson resides in King County Council District Seven, represented by Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer.

“There has been no greater user or advocate of transit services in South King County than Roger Thordarson,” said von Reichbauer. “I have known Roger for a long time, and he has made a career of working for increased transit options for the residents of South King County. His appointment to this committee will help ensure South King County has an experienced advocate on its side.”
Mr. Thordarson is retired and has previously served as a member of the King County Regional Transit Committee during his time as a member of the Auburn City Council. Roger is an active user of King County transit services and has indicated an interest in increased express bus routes from Auburn to Seattle.
The Transit Advisory Committee advises and assists King County with transit issues and policies. The committee is made up of 15 King County residents and stakeholders who are concerned about transit service in the county. Most members are bus riders.
