Council approves committee assignments for 2008

The Metropolitan King County Council today unanimously approved the committee membership for the 2008 County Council.

Today’s appointments finish the process started on Dec. 17 when Councilmember Julia Patterson was unanimously elected chair of the Council. Patterson will be joined on the Council’s management team by Councilmember Dow Constantine who was named Council Vice-Chair for Policy and Chair of the Committee of the Whole, and Councilmember Reagan Dunn who was elected Council Vice-Chair for Council Relations. The Council’s management team sets the agendas for meetings of the Council and Committee of the Whole and coordinates the referral and scheduling of legislation.

The full roster of Council committees is as follows:

• Committee of the Whole: Chair Dow Constantine, Vice-Chair Reagan Dunn. Members: All Councilmembers sit on the Committee of the Whole

• Capital Budget Committee: Chair Larry Phillips, Vice-Chair Jane Hague. Members: Bob Ferguson, Julia Patterson, Pete von Reichbauer
