King County and Seattle sign SODO arena legislation

Councilmembers joined Executive Dow Constantine, Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn and investor Chris Hansen at the Rainier Vista Boys and Girls Club October 16, 2012 for a celebration of the joint signing of the SODO arena legislation. The adopted legislation authorizes the city of Seattle and King County to enter into an memorandum of understanding (MOU) and interlocal agreement (ILA) with ArenaCo—the company representing arena investor Chris Hansen.

The adoption of the legislation is a major step toward building a new arena to house the Sonics and a potential hockey team.

Adopted Legislation
Ordinance 2012-0388.2 adopted October 15, 2012, with attached MOU and ILA
