Law, Justice, Health and Human Services Committee
The Council's Law, Justice, Health and Human Services Committee considers and makes recommendations on policies relating to:
- public safety, including adult detention, juvenile justice and youth services, Superior and District Courts, judicial administration, prosecuting attorney, public defense, emergency medical services;
- emergency management, including disaster response, emergency preparedness, and emergency planning;
- public health, including those related to the protection, promotion and provision functions of Public Health - Seattle & King County, and the structure of public health centers; and
- human services, including implementation of the Mental Illness and Drug Dependency Action Plan and the Veterans and Human Services Levy, therapeutic and low-income housing, and civil rights and social justice.
