NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a public hearing will be held before the Metropolitan King County Council, Room 1001, King County Courthouse, Seattle, Washington on the 17th day of January, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., to consider adoption of Proposed Ordinance No. 2011-0462 relating to transportation concurrency, adopting a new transportation concurrency travel shed boundaries map.SUMMARY: The purpose of the Transportation Concurrency Management program is to ensure that King County's transportation infrastructure is adequate to meet the needs of new development. The Transportation Concurrency Travel Shed Boundaries map identifies travel sheds throughout unincorporated King County to be tested for transportation concurrency, as measured by travel time standards applied to each travel shed. A proposed development must be in a passing travel shed as an initial step in the project development process. Proposed Ordinance 2011-0462 amends the King County Code so the Transportation Concurrency Travel Shed Boundaries map will represent the unincorporated area as of July 2011, accounting for recent annexations, and makes code text changes to report requirements representing efficiencies in the reporting process.
