Proposed Substitute Ordinance 2011-0421

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan King County Council will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers on the 10th Floor of the King County Courthouse (516 Third Avenue, Seattle Washington) on Monday the 14th day of November 2011 beginning at 1:30 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing is to consider adoption of Proposed Substitute Ordinance 2011-0421. SUMMARY Proposed Substitute Ordinance 2011-0421 establishes the following conditions under which a commercial farm vehicle may stop within an agricultural production district to load or unload agricultural crops, livestock production and farmland products: · the vehicle is in a safe and practicable position, · the vehicle is stopped less than one hour, · the vehicle is as far from the traveled way as practicable and a minimum 20-foot travelled way remains open for two-way traffic, which includes maintaining a minimum of 12 feet of emergency vehicle clearance at all times, and if the minimum 20 twenty-foot traveled way cannot be maintained, the temporary one-lane, two-way traffic control compliant with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices must be provided. · the vehicles flashing lights are activated, · the vehicle is positioned to maintain an unobstructed view and adequate sight distance for other motorists, and · the operator assumes liability for all injuries to persons or real or personal property. A copy of Proposed Substitute Ordinance No. 2011-0421 will be mailed upon request to the Clerk of the Council, Room 1200, King County Courthouse, 516 Third Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104.
