NOTICE OF HEARING
Proposed Ordinance 2011-0305
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan King County Council will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers on the 10th Floor of the King County Courthouse (516 Third Avenue, Seattle Washington) on Monday the 29th day of August, 2011 beginning at 1:30 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing is to consider adoption of Proposed Ordinance 2011-0305 adopting code revisions relating to coastal high hazard areas. King County encourages public comment on Proposed Ordinance 2011-0305. You may wish to present oral testimony at the August 29th public hearing. Testimony is limited to three minutes per speaker and you may provide written copies for the Councilmembers’ review. Please provide 20 copies of any written material you wish to submit. The chamber is equipped with an audio/visual system capable of displaying 35mm slides, VHS tapes, overheads, and computer displays. Audio/visual presentations are included in the 3-minute timeframe. Testimony sign-up will take place in the lobby outside the Council Chambers before the beginning of the meeting on August 29th. Proposed Ordinance 2011-0305 establishes coastal high hazard areas regulations for Vashon/Maury Island that require: - Buildings to be (1) constructed on pilings and columns, (2) elevated at least three-feet above the 100-year flood elevation and (3) located landward of the mean high tide,
- Foundations to be anchored, and
- Structural support without the use of fill material.
