NOTICE OF HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a public hearing will be held before the Metropolitan King County Council, Room 1001, King County Courthouse, Seattle, Washington, on the 12th day of September, 2011, at 1:30 p.m., to consider adoption of Proposed Substitute Ordinance 2011-0145.

Proposed Substitute Ordinance 2011-0145:

· Describes key solid waste rate and transfer station capital policies in the ordinance preamble.

· Sets the 2012 Solid Waste Division disposal fees.

· The basic fee is set at $109 per ton. This fee is charged to customers disposing of municipal solid waste at King County solid waste facilities.

· The transfer station entry fee for passenger cars is set at 17.49 per entry

· The regional direct fee is set at $93.50 per ton. This fee is charged to commercial collection companies that haul solid waste to the Cedar Hill landfill from their own transfer stations and processing facilities, bypassing County transfer stations.

This notice is given in accordance with the provisions of RCW 36.32.120 (7) and provides penalties for the violation of the provisions thereof.
