METROPOLITAN KING COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Proposed Ordinance 2011-0010 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan King County Council will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers on the 10 floor of the King County Courthouse (516 Third Avenue, Seattle, Washington) on the 28 day of February, 2011, beginning at 1:30 p.m., to consider adoption of Proposed Ordinance No. 2011-0010 relating to transportation concurrency, adopting a new concurrency map.
SUMMARY The concurrency map is a tool for ensuring that King County’s transportation infrastructure is adequate to meet the needs of new development. The concurrency map identifies which travel sheds throughout unincorporated King County pass or fail the concurrency test, as measured by travel time standards applied to each travel shed. A proposed development must be in a passing travel shed as an initial step in the project development process. Proposed Ordinance 2011-0010 amends the King County Code by adopting a new transportation concurrency map generated by travel time data collected in spring 2010 and applied to travel speed standards in the King County Code. This map replaces the current transportation concurrency map adopted in February 2010. This new map will be reviewed and potentially approved by the King County Council. A copy of Proposed Ordinance No. 2011-0010 will be mailed upon request to the Clerk of the Council, Room 1200, King County Courthouse, 516 Third Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104, telephone 206-296-1020. DATED at Seattle, Washington, this 19th day of January, 2011. METROPOLITAN KING COUNTY COUNCIL KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON
