SUMMARY

Proposed Substitute Ordinance 2009-0473 would amend KCC chapter 21A.55 to:

  • Apply restrictions on the storage of recreational vehicles within the flood zone,
  • Broaden the types of data that the County may use to delineate flood hazards to ensure that the best available data is used, consistent with federal law,
  • Allow fill to be placed in sub-grade crawl spaces without providing compensatory storage, in order to provide an incentive for owners to eliminate such crawl spaces and receive lower insurance rates, and
  • Specify that licensed land surveyors must complete FEMA elevation certificates to conform to applicable State requirements.

Dated at Seattle, Washington, this 23rd day of September, 2009.
