2010 Update to the King County Shoreline Master Program

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan King County Council (the Council) held a public hearing in the Council Chambers on the 10th Floor of the King County Courthouse (516 Third Avenue, Seattle, WA) on Monday, September 20, 2010 beginning at 11:00 AM. The purpose of this public hearing was to consider adoption of Proposed Ordinance (PO) 2009-0609 (Ordinance 16985) which updates the King County Shoreline Master Program (SMP) including making substantive changes to the County's development regulations and adding a new chapter 5 to the County's Growth Management Comprehensive Plan relating to Shoreline Management.
SUMMARY
Proposed updates to the SMP were transmitted by the King County Executive in November 2009 and reviewed by the Environment and Transportation Committee (the Committee). The Committee initially completed its review of the legislation and forwarded to the Council on July 27, 2010. Council held the public hearing on this ordinance on September 20, 2010 and referred the legislation back to the Committee on November 8, 2010. The Committee made its final recommendation on November 30, 2010 and the Council took final action, adopting the recommended legislation, on November 30, 2010.
