METROPOLITAN KING COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF ENACTMENT

Ordinance 17040

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan King County Council adopted Ordinance 17040 on February 28, 2011. King County provides this notice of adoption and enactment pursuant to RCW 36.70A.290(2)(b).

SUMMARY

Ordinance 17040 relates to the King County transportation concurrency management program, adopting new transportation concurrency maps. The concurrency map is a tool for ensuring that King County’s transportation infrastructure is adequate to meet the needs of new development. The concurrency map identifies which travel sheds throughout unincorporated King County pass or fail the concurrency test, as measured by travel time standards applied to each travel shed. A proposed development must be in a passing travel shed as an initial step in the project development process. Ordinance 17040 amends the King County Code by adopting a new transportation concurrency map, effective until June 1, 2011, generated by travel time data collected in spring 2010 and applied to travel speed standards in the King County Code. Ordinance 17040 also approves a second new transportation concurrency map, effective June 1, 2011, generated by the same travel time data and reflecting the annexation by Kirkland of the North Juanita, Finn Hill, Kingsgate area. The maps replace the transportation concurrency map adopted in February 2010 in Ordinance 16763.

A copy of Ordinance 17040 will be mailed upon request to the Clerk of the Council, Room 1200, King County Courthouse, 516 Third Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104, telephone 206-296-1020.
