Meeting highlights May 5-9, 2008
Monday, May 5 Committee-of-the-Whole – 9:30 a.m Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full council: • An ordinance authorizing the County Executive to participate with the Port of Seattle in a transaction to acquire the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Eastside Rail Corridor (Ordinance 2008-0226). Public testimony will be taken on this item.
King County Ferry District – 11:30 a.m. ***Special Meeting*** Board members are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on: • A resolution relating to the organization of the Ferry District, authorizing agreement for management services to the District (FD2008-12).
King County Flood Control Zone District – 11:30 a.m. Supervisors are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on: • A resolution authorizing cooperative agreements with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on behalf of the King County Flood Control Zone District. (FCZD 2008-06).
Metropolitan King County Council – 1:30 p.m. Councilmembers are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on: • An ordinance authorizing the County Executive to participate with the Port of Seattle in a transaction to acquire the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Eastside Rail Corridor (Ordinance 2008-0226). • An ordinance for the September 2008 public transportation service improvements for King County (Ordinance 2008-0228). • A motion concerning the county’s efforts to combat global warming and seeking ways for King County to accommodate the use of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (Substitute Motion 2008-0222). • A motion supporting the withdrawal of federal fund for the Airbus tanker and supporting a new competitive contract for the building of certain military hardware (Motion 2008-0248).
Tuesday, May 6 Growth Management and Natural Resources Committee – 930 a.m. Briefing: • King County Comprehensive Plan Update 2008, proposed changes: o Facilities, Services and Utilities relating to water supply and utilities other than energy (Briefing No. 2008-B0115).
