Radio Executive Policy Committee (REPC)

Radio systems are used to communicate with and among fire fighters, police officers and ambulances. The King County radio system is also used by other agencies. For example, it would typically be used by police, rescue, health, and transportation workers during a significant flood.

King County’s radio system is nearing the end of its useful life. At the suggestion of County Executive Sims and Seattle Mayor Nickels, a group of elected officials and their representatives (the REPC) from Snohomish, King, and Pierce Counties have begun meeting to develop a plan for updating/rebuilding our systems so they enable users to better assist the public and to work more effectively and safely.
