Hours

Open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, except for holidays. King County Superior Court is also closed on non-judicial days.

Security screening

You will pass through a security screening checkpoint as you enter the King County Courthouse. Certain items may not be brought into the facility and must be left with security personnel at the checkpoint before you enter. Accommodations for people with disabilities

If you have a disability, you may request an accommodation by completing a Request for Reasonable Accommodation form.  Instructions are included with the form.

Childcare

Childcare is not available at the courthouse.

Food

There is a snack shop on the first floor of the courthouse, and vending machines are available in jury assembly room on the first floor.  Many restaurants are close by.

From the south

  1. Take I-5 Northbound
  2. Take exit 164A, following signs to James Street.
  3. Take James Street exit
  4. Turn left on James Street
  5. Courthouse entrances are on Third and Fourth Avenues, just south of James.

From the north

  1. Take I-5 Southbound
  2. Take exit 165A toward James Street
  3. Continue on 6th Avenue
  4. Turn right on James Street
  5. Courthouse entrances are on Third and Fourth Avenues, just south of James.

From I-90 west

  1. Take I-90 Westbound
  2. Take exit 2C right, I-5 Northbound
  3. Take exit 165A toward James Street
  4. Continue on 6th Avenue
  5. Turn right on James Street
  6. Courthouse entrances are on Third and Fourth Avenues, just south of James.

  1. Goat Hill parking garage (entrance on Jefferson Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues; street address is 415 6th Ave., Seattle; call 206-652-0849 for pricing (across the street from Chinook Building). King County employees receive discounted parking here.

Bicycle parking

Bike racks are available along the Fourth Avenue side of the Courthouse.  Additional bike racks are available across Fourth Avenue at the King County Administration Building.
