Christmas holiday closures and service impacts

King County government offices will be closed to observe Christmas. Christmas Day is on December 25.
If December 25 falls on a Saturday, Christmas will be observed the Friday before. If December 25 falls on a Sunday, Christmas will be observed the Monday after. All offices will be back on a normal schedule the following day.

In 2024, Christmas will be observed Wednesday, December 25.

Transit

• Buses and transit will run on a Sunday schedule on December 25. 
• Water Taxis will not sail.
• Metro offices will be closed. This includes customer service, lost and found, and pass sales.

Courts

District Court, Superior Court, and the Superior Court Clerk’s office will be closed.

Other services

• Solid waste facilities and transfer stations will be closed.
• Contact your garbage collection service provider for information on collections.
