How to become a board memberBoard members are elected at the annual general meeting held in February. Veterans' organizations from throughout King County (which must have been chartered by an act of the United States Congress) are invited to send up to three representatives to the annual meeting. These representatives must be elected officers or individuals certified to represent the organization. At this meeting, nominations are sought to fill seventeen board seats on the Advisory Board, including the chair and vice chair. Members are elected for two-year terms. In addition, the Veterans' Program Coordinator and the Outgoing Advisory Board Chair shall report on the Veterans' Program activities during the preceding year and planned activities and budget for the upcoming year.
