Guilty Plea in Seattle Collision that Injured Postal Worker: State v. Jay Anderson: Jay Matthew Anderson pleaded guilty as charged to Vehicular Assault and Felony Hit and Run for driving under the influence and colliding with a parked car in downtown Seattle last July, pinning a postal worker between the parked car and a postal vehicle. The PAO will recommend a one-year sentence when Anderson, 52, is sentenced on Friday. The case was handled by Senior DPA Amy Freedheim.
Guilty Plea in Federal Way Gun Case: State v. Justin McLeod: An identified gang member with a history of felony convictions has pleaded guilty as charged to Unlawful Possession of a Firearm First Degree in a Federal Way gun possession case. Federal Way Detectives and a DPA worked tirelessly to locate several uncooperative witnesses which helped convince the defendant to plead guilty on the eve of trial. McLeod, 33, will be sentenced on Friday and faces a range of just over seven years in prison. The case was handled by DPA Steve Herschkowitz, paralegal Lindsey Thomas and Federal Way PD Detective Richard Kim.
