Repeat Burglar of the Month

The PAO's fight against repeat burglars -- known as the Repeat Burglar Initiative or "RBI" -- began in June of 2009, and has been paying off.

Twenty-two year old defendant Sou Voei Saetern, who was the leader of a nine-member burglary ring known as "The Gold Lexus Crew,"  pleaded guilty, on January 8, to three counts of Residential Burglary, two counts of Attempted Residential Burglary, and two counts of Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle for his admitted involvement in at least five burglaries.  It is believed this ring may have been responsible for dozens of burglaries that took place from West Seattle to Shoreline during 2009.

At the sentencing hearing on February 5, the PAO will recommend that Saetern be sentenced to an exceptional sentence of 12 years in prison.  Saetern's sentencing hearing represents the resolution of 29 charged felonies against seven different defendants from "The Gold Lexus Crew."  Special thanks goes to the Seattle Police Department, the King County Sheriff's Office, and the Renton Police Department whose investigations brought an end to this troubling and pernicious crime ring.
