Oct. 5, 2009 Trial Fellowship Program Leads To A New PartnershipIn 2008, the PAO launched a Trial Fellowship Program where attorneys from local private law firms are "loaned" to the PAO to work as special deputy prosecuting attorneys for a six-week period. During this time, the private sector attorneys work alongside deputy prosecuting attorneys and are assigned a regular caseload of felony crimes. This program has the twin goals of providing civil attorneys with valuable courtroom experience and allowing the PAO and the public the benefit of young talent from the area's premier law firms. Perkins Coie was the first law firm to participate in the Trial Fellowship Program, and they were so impressed that they generously agreed to "loan" the PAO one of their new associate lawyers for a year. The PAO is excited to welcome Kevin Zeck to its staff. Perkins Coie has delayed Zeck's official start date with the firm and has agreed to pay him a stipend so he can spend a year at the PAO gaining valuable trial experience. The PAO is grateful for this opportunity. Law firms interested in participating in the Trial Fellowship Program should contact our office at attorney.prosecuting@kingcounty.gov for additional information. Return to the News
