CASE UPDATES: May 2009

State v. Berube:  Defendant Ivory Berube was convicted of First-Degree Assault with a Firearm Enhancement and First-Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm for shooting a woman in the Central District in July 2008.  While the shooting was witnessed by as many as 15 witnesses, not one came forward to help police solve this crime.  Fortunately, the victim survived and was able to identify the defendant as the shooter.  The defendant now faces 25 to 32 years in prison, in part because of his lengthy criminal history.  Without the hard work and dedication of the Seattle Police Department's  Homicide and Gang Units, this case would not have been solved.  Senior DPA Corinn Bohn handled the prosecution of this case.
