July 2, 2009 It's Important To Be Green! One of the first priorities for Dan Satterberg when he was elected Prosecuting Attorney was to form a PAO Green Committee, tasked with making recommendations on how to make the PAO more environmentally friendly. The Green Committee has made many strides in its first year. The Committee has launched two "Green Challenges" encouraging and motivating employees to incorporate environmentally sound practices in both their professional and personal lives. The Committee has also incorporated "green tips" into the PAO's weekly employee newsletter and profiled "green heroes" -- colleagues who go the extra mile in the name of environmental stewardship. The Committee has also worked with King County's Facilities Management Division to add more recycling bins and options to our work sites. The Committee is currently working with the King County Executive's Office and King County's WasteWise Program to bring composting pilot projects to the Courthouse and the Administration buildings. We are proud of our Green Team! Return to the News |
