Public health is an important safety and quality of life issue that encompasses a wide range of issues including: responding to emerging health threats such as pandemic flu, protecting the public from food-borne illness, providing health clinics for low income individuals, educating the public about health risks such as smoking and obesity, and more. In 2007, I was excited to join the King County Board of Health to work more actively on the health issues that matter to the citizens of King County.
