Staying in touch with the communities of District Four is my highest priority as a representative. I value regular communication with residents and community groups and enjoy staying in touch through community newspapers and newsletters.

I have helped secure county funding for parks in District Four ranging in size from pocket parks and p-patches, to funding for improvements to Discovery Park. I have also helped secure funding for District Four senior centers, food banks, family centers, capital projects like McCaw Hall and the Seattle Aquarium expansion, and many other human service agencies and arts groups. This funding is a vital component to preserving and improving the quality of life in our community.

"Phillips...works tirelessly on behalf of his district. Most notably of late, he has been everywhere he needed to be to oppose the move of Southwest Airlines from Sea-Tac Airport to Boeing Field. Someone had to speak on behalf of neighbors who bristled at the idea of increasing flights and flight noise over their homes."
