Council Ensures Public Ownership of BNSF Eastside Rail Corridor
12-17-2007 The Metropolitan King County Council unanimously approved the framework of an historic agreement with the Port of Seattle and BNSF Railway Company, which ensures public ownership of the Eastside rail corridor and preserves future opportunities for dual use of the corridor for both a recreational trail and transportation. Phillips Reappointed to Sound Transit Board
12-17-2007 In his second term on the Sound Transit Board, Councilmember Phillips plans to continue to push for the initial segment of light rail to open on time and on budget, and to advocate for expanded mobility options including the First Hill Streetcar and rail extensions to Northgate, downtown Bellevue, and beyond. South Lake Union Streetcar Opens

Council Reinvests Pandemic Flu Drug Savings in Prevention
