Emiko serves as Councilmember Patterson's Chief of Staff. She staffs her on the following issues:
- Budget
- Flood District
- Public Health
- Office of Law Enforcement Oversight
- Labor Relations
In addition, Emiko supports Councilmember Patterson in her role on the Committee of the Whole and the National Association of Counties (NACo).
Emiko graduated with a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Washington in the spring of 2009 and holds a BA from The Evergreen State College. Previously, she worked with the League of Conservation Voters, the Washington Conservation Voters, and the YWCA-Seattle/King County.

A.J. serves as Councilmember Patterson’s Outreach and Communications Director. He staffs the following policy issues areas:
- Human services
- King County Equity and Social Justice Initiative
- Housing
- Annexations
- Parks
- Arts and Culture
- Historic preservation
- Community Safety
Before coming to the Council, A.J. worked on regional policy for the City of Seattle and worked for a number of community organizations focusing on variety of issues such as education, energy efficiency, and immigrant/civil rights. He is a graduate of the University of Washington.

Joe serves as Councilmember Patterson’s Communications Coordinator and Policy Aide. He staffs the following policy issue areas:
- Animal Control
- Aerospace/Airport
- Land Use/Comprehensive Plan
- Elections
- Ferry District
- Boards and Commissions
- Environment
- Public Safety
- Transportation
Prior to joining Councilmember Patterson’s office, Joe worked in U.S. Representative Jay Inslee’s District Office, and interned with the Center for Children & Youth Justice and the Washington State Senate Democratic Caucus. He graduated with a Bachelor’s from Western Washington University and a Master’s in Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington.

Sharon is Councilmember Patterson’s executive assistant. She serves as District Five's “mission control.” She handles all scheduling requests, constituent relations and provides important administrative support to Councilmember Patterson's Office.
Sharon is a long time resident of South King County, and is happy to be a District 5 constituent of Councilmember Patterson.
