Kathy Lambert was first elected in 1994 to the Washington State House of Representatives, where she served three-and-a-half terms as a Representative from District 45. She was then elected to the King County Council in 2001 and re-elected in 2005 to represent the residents of District 3 on a platform of fiscal responsibility, criminal justice reform, and reducing regulations and taxes on property owners.
Her background includes many years as a teacher in the Monroe School District and as a community leader in Redmond. On the Council Kathy’s priorities are continuing her work from the State Legislature, including increasing road service in the rural area, fighting unnecessary regulations and taxes on property owners, and advocating for government reforms.
Councilmember Lambert is a published poet and an author of a children’s book on Dr. Martin Luther King. She also enjoys traveling.
