Committees

The County Council functions through the work of its standing committees and regional committees, which scrutinize proposed legislation for consideration by the full Council. Regional committees include elected officials from other jurisdictions.

• King County Flood Control District

Councilmembers also serve on many special boards and commissions that deal with issues that impact communities throughout King County and the Puget Sound region, such as Sound Transit, the Growth Management Planning Council, and the Puget Sound Regional Council.
