The increase in total assessed valuation from 2003 to 2004 was $10,839,656,213 or 4.6%, for a total assessed valuation of $235,834,254,423.
The Department of Assessments is responsible for appraising approximately 616,000 commercial, industrial and residential properties in King County. Real property valuation increased $11,998,586,462 or 5.4% over the prior year, for a total of $221,974,001,023.
Personal Property staff assessed approximately 58,500 accounts for 2004 taxes. Personal property valuation decreased by $1,158,930,249 or (8.4%) over the prior year, for a total of $13,860,253,400.
