The increase in total assessed valuation from 1998 to 1999 was $15,032,259,031 or 11.1% for a total assessed valuation of $150,422,451,263.
The Department of Assessments is responsible for appraising approximately 570,700 commercial, industrial and residential properties in King County. Real property valuation increased $14,426,155,110 or 11.6% over the prior year, for a total of $138,503,210,847.
Personal Property staff assessed approximately 65,800 accounts for 1999 taxes. Personal property valuation increased by $606,103,921 or 5.4% over the prior year, for a total of $11,919,240,416.
