The increase in total assessed valuation from 2008 to 2009 was $45,894,288,332 or 13.46%, for a total assessed valuation of $386,889,727,909.
The Department of Assessments is responsible for appraising approximately 660,000 commercial, industrial and residential properties in King County. Real property valuation increased $45,418,938,802 or 14.02% over the prior year, for a total of $369,295,762,014.
Personal Property staff assessed approximately 44,366 accounts for 2009 taxes. Personal property valuation increased by $475,349,530 or 2.78% over the prior year, for a total of $15,717,886,403.
